"Oh you wouldn't?" Ric chuckled, he talking softly with an amused look for a bit until he realized that well, he was being stared at. And it wasn't just any drunken half asleep stare. Gavin looked... looked... "Jesus, Mary and Joseph..!" he whispered to himself. Oh yes, it had finally clicked. Finally. Taken long enough. The kid looked... lovestruck! At him? That didn't make sense... it had to be the booze. Had. Yeah. "Here," he urged, shifting to give the other a little more room, trying to get Gavin to sit up. "Drink some water, it'll clear your head.." his cheeks were suddenly a tiny bit red. Ric was a shameless flirt, he was not used to his flirts really well... working.
Gavin just blushed. He had been found out. Perhaps if you flirt with someone long enough, and hard enough... Gavin had a feeling he knew what happened. He gladly took the water. To be honest his feelings were a little hurt, if what he thought was happening was actually happening. Figures it would be the one person who was nice to him would be the first casualty of lust. He drained half of the bottle. "Thank you." He said as he rolled over and closed his eyes and began to pretend to sleep. He had almost mastered the technique, or so he thought. Gavin couldn't wait to get back to his room, and never come out.
Ric looked down at him with a look of confusion and concern. ...him? really? Suddenly the event with the salesgirl made sense. He sighed and turned his head toward the sky. "Oh Julio, you are an idiot," he scolded himself quietly. "Hey, Gav," he said after a few moments to collect his thoughts, reaching to poke the boy in his skinny stomach gently.
Gavin wasn't sure what to do, but the poke of the tummy made him shake with laughter. He paused for a moment, but didn't say anything for a moment. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing would come out. He didn't know what to do, or say. He had never come across this feeling and didn't know what to do. He opened his eyes and looked at Ric. He thought about his heart and hoped that if Ric was going to break it, hopefully he would break it into big pieces that way he could find them easier when he had to glue them back together.
"Hey..." he said again, still trying to collect his thoughts. Aarg. This was a mess. "So uuuh... you... feel like that.. before the alcohol?" He thought it was a valid question. His eyes were still gentle, he did not seem to be mocking him or disgusted either. Rictor could feel a slight panic trying to rise up in him but he was keeping it under control surprisingly well, he thought.
He didn't know what to say. He didn't feel good. The pressure was making him sick. Here comes the big break. All he had to do was lie. Give him a neutral answer. That was his best option. Neutral answers were definitely the way to go. He took a deep breath, and slowly let it out. He still felt sick. He had to sit up. He fanned himself, as he was starting to get hot. He didn't look at Ric at all when he answered. "I...don't know." Bad answer. He didn't want to alienate his one friend if he said yes. If he said no then...he was getting his hopes up. Gavin pushed his feet down all the way in his boots. They were tied tight, and his backpack was on. He could make a run for it. The thought ran rampantly through his mind. He sat forward in the seat ready to run away from rejection...his first rejection.
Though jsut then, Ric's arm reached out to wrap around the others shoulders lightly. "Hey... don't get so worked up. Listen.." he said, a chuckle rumbled in his chest after a moment. "I'm not what most would call good boyfriend material, and you're seventeen." Was this his big easy let down. He leaned forward to try and look into Gav's eyes. "I'm twenty, so my dating someone your age is... well... it's not considered a good thing." he tried to explain it as best he could. "But tell ya what, amego. If you still feel this way when you turn eighteen.. well... then you know where to find me, ok?" he flashed him one of his more charming smiles. Gavin was cute, he was very amusing, obviously had a good heart. Ric couldn't find any reason why he wouldn't be interested in the kid once he was no longer jail bait.
