Sometimes Remy did tell things, though, in his very own way, with words and language that Yindi understood and yet did not understand how that was possible. Cajuns and some Australians must have come from the same people; or maybe these two just lucked out and manage when they are lumped together. Despite his own dislike for sharing in the obvious sort of way, Yindi knew she could tell Remy things and they would always be safe. He could ask without actually asking and there was no immediate need for an answer; Yindi would tell him, of course, but she appreciated that she could say nothing and he would still be there for her.
"I dun't know if I like it yet or not. It's kinda scary." She pulled back enough to look up at him, her chin on his chest, arms still about him. It was nice to have an embrace like this, one from a friend. There was still tension in her shoulders and back, but Yindi would slowly be able to relax. "I was outside last Wednesday and yeu know I fall asleep out'ere. I did again but then there was the storm and..." Yindi fell silent for a beat, her mouth closed and she sighed through her nose. "I dun't even remember getting back in but there's vines and flowers coming outta me skin and ivy outta me head. I feel like a really weird... flower pot."
A flower pot was a good way of thinking about it, she realized as soon as she said it. Yindi's arms slipped away from Remy's waist and she took a couple steps backwards towards her bed. The clothes and books and whatnot that had been left at the foot of it were shoved off without a second thought, their crash to the floor partially muffled by a stray pillow. She climbed up on top of the rumpled sheets, her back against the wall to which the bed was pressed against, and left plenty of room for Remy to join her.
"But I couldun't get it to stop growin'. The vines were whippin' 'round and everything just hurt. And apparently me eyes get really green, like go-light green, and me veins all turned green too." Her voice was soft but her tone was slightly twinged with disgust. "I just couldun't stop. I guess I passed out or somethin'. What it took for me to make littl'uns grow outta the ground is nothin' compared to this." Yindi pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her chin atop them, her eyes drifted to her friend. "I dun't know that I'm ready for this."
