Who: Kitty and Professor Xavier
When: Backdated Sat, August 2nd, 2008; a couple hours after her speaking with Alex in the Kitchen
Where: Xavier institute, Xavier's office
What: Kitty confesses what she did, not that it is necessary, but it makes her feel better....
Rating: G.
Kitty had waken from her nap, and well she still wasn't feel very brave about confronting Professor Xavier about what he probably already knew about, but she felt she had to.
She moved out of her room, pushed the call button for the lift, and when the doors opened up she stepped in. She pushed the button for the appropriate floor she needed, and rode the lift down. When she got out she walked down the hall toward the Professors office.
When she got there she took a deep breath, and knocked on the door, she knew he probably already knew she was out there nervous, and scared. "Professor, can I have an audience with you?" She asked softly through the door.
Professor Xavier knew she would come, especially after what happened. He took out a glass and some water from his mini refrigerator he liked to keep in his office for guests. He had just come back from seeing a rather irksome, at times, faculty member. Logan had informed him of his intentions to leave the school. Honestly he didn't understand that man, and he was aggravating at times, but he supposed Logan was good with the kids and would do almost anything to help them out and protect them.
Of course Kitty Pryde, please come in and have a seat. He said as he prepared to talk with her. She was a wonderful student and a bright girl with a beautiful smile. Don't be worried. It isn't that bad.
She sighed and opened the door. She didn't feel like it wasn't going to be bad. She felt like crap again now that she was here. She didn't want to have to admit again, like she had with Alex to anyone else. Hopefully, he would spare her that.
She stepped in, went to the chair, and tried to smile like she normally did, but it came out shaky and wobbly. It wasn't that she was afraid of him, as much as she felt so bad, and she hardly ever was in to see the Professor, so she wasn't used to this.
"IM SORRY!!!" Was the first thing that came out. "I ... I know I have been cowardly, but I didn't know what to do at first. At first I didn't want anyone to know how stupid I had been, and Rogue was more then willing to just let it go." She bowed her head. "But... I couldn't I deserve something... I inadvertently hurt another with my powers...." Tears were in her eyes again, and she swiped at them quickly.
He smiled gently, and handed her the water. "Here, for all those tears you are wasting." He said as he wheeled out from behind his desk. "Do you remember the night when Rogue was here and she nearly killed Logan, of all people?" He asked as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure that you do."
She took the water, and nodded her head. She took a sip, and then looked at the older man. She had always liked the Professor, he was so kind. "Yes," she whispered out. "It had been shortly after they had become room mates. It had been a talk around the dorms."
"Well, we all know that Logan is alive and well, and I would suffice it to say that Marie is still alive. Things happen, especially here, that cannot be prevented. When so many people live in close proximity, things will happen and learning how to deal with the aftermath is a learning experience. Nothing to be punished for. You have nothing to be ashamed of Kitty." He said as he wheeled behind his desk. "I remember being a kid, and I remember using my powers...well, rather poorly. I was never punished because we all must learn to control our powers accordingly." He said with a smile. "I, am glad however, that you took the time to come and tell me."
She smiled then. "I am too, I feel much better. However, there is still a part of me that feels I am getting off to easy. But I have learned my lesson. I will never do that again." She nodded.
She wondered why she had been so nervous, this really had been a freeing thing to do. She still would feel stupid about it, but at least she didn't feel that heavy guilt anymore. "Thanks, Professor." She finished drinking her bottle, and stuck the bottle in the plastic recycler near his desk. "Professor, did you know right away?" she asked, she couldn't help it. It was that curious cat thing with her.
