Who: Alex open to Lorna Dane When: Mid-morning, Saturday, Week 7 Where: Starbucks/Borders, downtown NYC What: Alex heads into the city for some books and some coffee. Ratings & Warnings: TBD
Though it was a rare thing for him, Alex had woken up bored. It was Saturday and, though he had been planning a training session for the juniors, he had no intention of trying to round them all up on their first day of freedom after a week of classes. On second though, he also knew he shouldn't do it in the week. He could only take the kids out of class so many times before he got in trouble for it so he was erring on the side of caution. Maybe he'd figure something out for the following weekend.
He had decided he wanted a change of scene from the mansion. There were lots of places to go, of course, but after all while it all got old. Alex hadn't seen much of New York since he'd been there and he quite liked the idea of having a walk around downtown. Also there were a few books he wanted to pick up that the Xavier's library hadn't been able to produce (geophysics was an obscure subject for high schoolers, after all). So, that Monday morning, Alex jumped on a train and headed into the city.
With stores being in great abundance, it wasn't long upon arriving at his destination before Alex found a Borders, which he also noticed had a Starbucks inside. Thinking about it, he wouldn't mind a cup of coffee. He normally stuck to water but a coffee now and again wasn't going to kill him.
"What passes for a normal cup of coffee around here?" He asked no one in particular as he drew close to the Starbucks counter. He wasn't familiar with Starbucks lingo. He stood with a half-smile on his face as he waited for an answer from one of the baristas. Somehow he had yet to notice the one with the green hair.
