WHAT: Kitty and Shiro study

With all the time Shiro Yoshida had in the mansion, one might think he would have mastered math and science. That was not the case. While he advanced to senior year English, History, and Literature, he remained in junior year science and math. Made sense since he wasn't a right brained person at all. He had a way with languages but that could be because he spent a great portion of his childhood surrounded by diplomats' children. Learning a new language came rather naturally. It is odd with someone so good at languages that he would find it so difficult at communicating.
It came only natural that Shiro would need a tutor. Luckily, Miss Kitty Pryde stepped up to the challenge to teach the easily frustrated Sunfire. His people were supposed to be known for their patience, but Shiro was anything but. Luckily he liked Kitty so when he had bouts of his temper, he could contain it to a certain degree. Since Shiro was the sort who believed in tit for tat, he decided to return the favor and teach her Japanese. He actually enjoyed this portion, mostly because he was in charge but also partly because he had intense pride for his culture.
On this particular winter day, Shiro was to meet his tutor and they would have an exchange of lessons. He wasn't looking forward to working on his math homework, ug! Trigonometry! There was also science to be had! Ug! Chemistry! Which was like math in its own way. While Shiro had no idea what he wanted to do with himself, he was certain it would have nothing to do with math or science. With those books on the table in one neat corner, Shiro, sitting by said table, focused his attention on the lesson he had for Kitty. He decided to spell out certain Japanese words in romanji and have her write them out in katakana and hiragana. He would tell what they were in English afterwards. He decided that it was still too early to learn Kanji. After all, most Japanese people weren't all the way "fluent" in kanji anyway!
