Shiro Yoshida was having an okay day. There were classes as usual, then some small danger room exercise. When the mail came, it turned out he got a package from his little sister Leyu who made him some cookies. He couldn't face her when his father had found him knee deep in the underground scene and he also was worried she didn't like him because of years under the same roof as their mutant hating Uncle. Her note was simple, just wishing her brother good luck and to stay safe in what was going on through the world. But the bag of cookies, shaped like different animals made him in a rather good mood.
After he was released, Shiro felt that he needed to train a little in some kendo so with his shinai and wearing the traditional training outfit, he headed to the gym and did simple drills until his shinai felt like lead and his stomach growled. After taking a shower and changing into some sweats, Shiro headed to the kitchen to make the most of the package he got, which was mostly his favorite food from Japan. Chicken and curry over rice, the thought of it made him salivate.
After he cooked his meal, he sat down at the kitchen island with his bowl in front of him, a bottle of coca-cola on his right and the neatly packaged cookies on his left for when he would be done. He couldn't find chopsticks so used a fork. Before he dug in, he grinned and bowed his head briefly, "Itadaikimasu." Then he dug in, his stomach growling contently.
Kyle was, once again, bored. He wasn't the best at entertaining himself, really. He had spread himself out over a couch, head hanging over the arm rest and almost to the floor as he contemplated things to do.
Then the smell hit him. Blue eyes went wide as he pulled his legs forward, rolling once before he stood, quickly moving down the halls sniffing the air. Kitchen. Definitely from the kitchen. Instinctively the young feral went into "hunting mode," making as little noises as he could as he approached the smell.
All that sneaking wen to to the wind when he got near enough, suddenly leaping forward, skidding across the room, clamping clawed hands around the edge of the island counter to brace himself and sticking his head between Shiro and the bowl. "Whassis?" Kyle demanded with wide, eager eyes as he continued sniffing. It smelled spicy and good.
Shiro didn't think much of anything. His mind wandered as he munched thoughtfully at his yummy curry. He considered what he had for homework. There was math and science, the two subjects that were his worst. He decided to take up German, to brush up on what he learned in Switzerland all those years ago which went pretty well. Literature was okay and he enjoyed history. Definitely a left brained person. Of course, it was difficult considering he was learning these subjects in English. While his English was very good, there was still a lot of words he didn't know.
Yes, Shiro was in a good mood for once. Nothing could ruin it. Oh wait. Something did. Wild Child suddenly made an appearance, blocking him from his bowl. It surprised him, incredibly, to the point he almost fell out of his chair. He uttered some obscenity as he gained his balance. He started to curse him out in his native language but quickly got his head back on, "KYLE! NO! THIS IS MINE! Make your own!" Moving to the next stool over, he turned his back towards Wild Child, holding his bowl close to his chest.
Kyle already had a thumb and forefinger extended over a chunk of chicken, ready to snag it, when Shiro jerked the bowl away. He quite suddenly looked like a scolded puppy. "But... it smells good..." he objected sadly, poking his lower lip out. Of course the sad puppy face didn't work as well when you had large canines that poked out along with your lower lip.
"And... I can't cook..." he whined. There was a good reason for that. Most agreed that things such as burners and blenders were best off not in the hands of the Wild Child. "And... it smells good!" Kyle had few arguments.
Shiro was highly irritated which is why he had his back to the feral child. He ate his curry and rice, pouting slightly. He never was one for sharing. Especially not with people he didn't like! Why wouldn't he go away? Shiro wondered with a groan.
"Go away! There are microwave meals you can always have! I only made enough for me!" he explained without even facing Wild Child. He continued to munch away but much faster than before. He was having such a good day...
Gibney frowned, crouching on the stool that Shiro had recently abandoned, just staring at the others back with a very sad face. Thought that didn't last terribly long. His nose was twitching again. He hopped off the stool and moved toward the counters again, nose twitching as he began to seek out other smells, soon spotting a bag of cookies. Heh, not meat, but still good! He snatched up the bag and pulled it open, sniffing and looking the treats over.
Shiro scrapped at the bottom of his bowl not even acknowledging Kyle again. He could sense his presence behind him but he begged he would stay there if not completely go away. As he finished up his bowl, he heard the rustling of the bag. Slamming the bowl down on the table, he stood up defiantly, "Do NOT touch my sister's cookies!"
As he was about to turn around, he grabbed his shinai and struck it in the direction of Wild Child's head. No one touches Leyu's cookies! No one! Okay, so he could have grabbed the bag away from Kyle but Sunfire wanted to cause some pain.
"Hey, Sunny!" Kyle grumbled, rubbing at his head. "That hurt!" Oh yes, master of stating the obvious. He quickly snatched out one cookie, it was a bear standing on its hind legs, holding it up between the claws of his thumb and pointer finger. "B'sides look! This guy kinna looks like me! Can't I have him?" There went the puppydog eyes again. Another moment and he added "There's not a name on the bag..."
"Of course it hurt! But I doubt I got to that thick brain of yours!" Shiro was livid. It almost seemed for a moment he could be radiating small amounts of heat. Those were his sister's cookies. His sister, who he had abandoned 5 years ago due to his own cowardice because of what he had become. The cookies were a way of her saying, "I forgive you!"
Sunfire cut down with his shinai right at the cookie. He'd rather it be broken than in the hands of the most annoying person he had ever met! "No! She made them for me!" He growled a little, "Yes there is a name on the bag!" He pointed to the tag that said in Japanese, "For Shiro-niichan." "I doubt you could read it even if it were in English!" He snapped, the words coming out in a very explosive way.
"YEOWCH!" Kyle cried out, pulling his hand back, he dropping that cookie indeed, brows knitting. "Now look what ya did!" he accused with a frown, rubbing the back of his hand. He looked over at the symbols on the bag, shaking his head. "That's not a name... it's like... drawin's... Heh heh heh... that one kinna looks like two guys humping," he announced, pointing to one symbol.
Okay, so Wild Child stole his food, insulted his sister, and now was making fun of his language?! Oh, this would so not do! He had a lot of rage to get out and Kyle is providing a good punching bag. He grabbed the bag of cookies from out of reach of the annoying mutant.
"Go... away... now..." Shiro gave Kyle the death glare. He had to clean up his dishes still and here's Wild Child just causing chaos where ever he goes!
The hitting, the swearing in Japanese, none of it seemed to have effected the feral youth at all, but that glare did seem to cause some sort of light bulb to go off in his head. "...'kay," he muttered, suddenly very quiet. His shoulders were suddenly slouched, his head down slightly. "...sorry, man," he muttered again as he turned to leave the kitchen, stuffing his hands into his pockets. Hadn't meant to piss him off so bad... he'd just been after the smell-good food... Oh well...
Shiro rolled his eyes. That only thing worked with kids and girls, not dirty jungle boys. As he saw Kyle leave, he proceeded to clean up his cooking.
