That's the thing, she wasn't even sure she wanted to understand her powers, or learn more about them. It wasn't like she had found herself in situations like the one she had been in on a regular basis, nor did she feel a strong desire to go out and be a superheroine. And it wasn't like her powers would be any use for that sort of thing, anyway; her powers only seemed to effect herself. All she needed to know was how to turn it on and off, and she had pretty much gotten that figured out.
But, what she did need help figuring out was where she was going to go from there. It wasn't like she could go back to leading the life she had before this whole mess, because her life had been completely and irreversibly changed. Hell, Wren wasn't even sure she still wanted to go back to school to finish out her masters degree or continue working at the auction house whenever things went back to normal - if normalcy would ever be reattained again. Either way, she needed guidance and a path to follow; she couldn't remain aimless and lost forever. That was just not an option for her.
"I probably would've been able to handle discovering my abilities, if it had happened under different circumstances. I may have even been able to handle it coupled with having to fight for my life in that deathtrap," she said, her voice shook, but only slightly. Her true emotions were bubbling just below the surface; they were so dangerously close that they were on the verge of boiling over. "Maybe. But, the situation I'm in is a more complicated than that."
That sounded a bit melodramatic, even to her; but it was a complicated situation all around. But damn if she wasn't trying to hold herself together and keep fighting the tidal wave of feelings and emotions that were threatening to crush her. Wren had the tendency to act like she was stronger and braver than she really was, which was something Lucas liked to poke fun at all the time. He had thought it to be a cute and endearing quality; unfortunately, it was a damning one, too.
