Anastasia was a good and dear friend of Warren’s, or at least she had been at some point. The pair hadn’t exactly fallen out of good graces with one another, but their childhood friendship had definitely suffered when the Worthington heir discovered his mutant powers. A period of isolation had left their friendship in waters that hadn’t been as warm as before, but nonetheless they remained in contact. The choice of location for the party was incredible, so much so that he’d even elected to venture off by himself to one of the mountaintops and went on a little unscheduled flight. He’d stayed low, so as not to catch the attention of any skiers on the slopes, and after an hour of soaring above some of more desolate regions of the mountain, he was heading back into the resort.
Of course he made it appear as if he’d just arrived from a go at the slopes, unzipping his thick light blue jacket, and removing the matching set of goggles and a wooly beanie from his head and setting it aside. Some of the other rich and privileged youths he knew, like the Braddocks for instance, others he did not. Either way, this was the place to be if you were amongt the elite, and Warren was sure that keeping up appearances was important, even if he knew he was different than everyone else in the room. He’d start to wander through the crowd, shooting a hello here and there to those he recognized, making it a point to keep an eye out for the birthday girl so that she could get a kiss on the cheek and a well wishing for the occasion along with a pricey piece of jewelry he had purchased. Unlike the others, Warren didn't seem intent on living out some wild fantasy where he'd cut loose, in fact he was still playing the model heir with a friendly smile and polite demeanor.
His walk carried him by the hot tub, noting a familiar face, or at least one he'd seen before. Betsy Braddock's brother. It really was a small world. The hot tub wasn't the place for Warren though, and so he'd move away, laughing a little nervously when someone suggested he join in. That was an impossibility. He'd yet to out himself as a mutant, and with those wings harnessed to his back, removing his shirt just wasn't a wise idea.
