Conlan knocked on the dormitory door that as of today was being occupied by Zap's nephew (since the wedding also his nephew-in-law). He'd already met Americus at the wedding, which was probably why he'd been asked to show Americus around the school. Seemed like a good enough kid, maybe a little sheltered. Okay, on second thought, maybe a lot sheltered. Regardless, he liked him, but that didn't mean he had to be nice. He turned the door knob. He didn't care if Amus hadn't answered.
"Com' on Amus, it's a big school." Conny said as he entered the room, taking a quick look around at the half-unpacked bags and suitcases that littered the room. "You can tack up your emo band posters and crucifixes later." Conlan stopped next to the bed, atop of which was the bag Amus was working on at the moment. He lowered his gaze and began casually rifling through the possessions. "Any good figs... Oh, I don' have this album, but I got the rest." He pulled Queen's CD case out and tossed it on the bed; he planned to borrow that after the tour.
"Come-" in? He already had. Conlan again. 'Sentient' had already shown him to his room. Was he going to show him around, as well? Americus sighed a bit and as he bent to add the CD's that were in his hand to the lower shelf beside his desk, he craned around to see what Conlan was touching. One of his Queen discs. It was now tossed on the bed. Emo bands and crucifixes? Ugh. "Could you maybe call me Eric? I mean, the only people who call me Amus are-" family "is everyone back home. At school people just called me Eric. I dunno." He stood and shook his pant legs to unbunch them after crouching, "Yeah, you can borrow that if you want." He gestured randomly as he took an appraising gaze at his progress. "Is Zap busy? I just thought that she'd be around more, I mean," he didn't want to sound needy, "show me around."
"Eric, fine whatever." Conlan said giving another glance around at all of Americus' shit. "I dunno, she's probably just screwin' 'round downstairs." He said as he as began to notice a pattern. Everything was cars, motorbikes, footballs and American Eagle. An all-American boy wasn't he? Yes, he was. "Doesn' matter, we'll have more fun." Maybe he could work on getting Eric a little dirty; and he didn't mean with dirt bikes. Conlan abandoned his search for swag and made for the exit. "Times a wastin'."
"But," well, he didn't really have a reason to unpack before getting acquainted with the building and property. He was just unsure of his surroundings and "Booger"'s intentions. The Murphys seemed like good enough guys, but he had an inkling they got more pleasure out of others' pain than the average Joe. "Okay," he brushed his hands off on the sides of his jeans and moved to follow Conlan. "When you said 'screwin' around'..." He shut the door behind them after trailing off. He wasn't sure if he should've inquired further or not. But he also wasn't sure if his older (but smaller) in-law had just insulted his aunt's honor. Plus, he never wanted to hear about any of his family members "screwin' around." Shudder. Thirdly, he was going to be miffed if he was being ditched for sex. It was his first day, for Pete's sake.
"Relax stretch, she's probably tinkering around on something electrical." 'Regular tinker fairy that one' Conlan thought as he left the bed room with Americus in tow. "We'll head down to the lab and you can see her after the tour. You can meet the whole gang." That might be interesting, the basement dwellers had become a kind of family... A strange, strange family. Might scare the hell outta this one, he thought. "Let me show you the fastest way to the kitchen, I got a feelin' you eat a lot."
