Damn it all. Self-pity (or self-doubt) wasn't flattering on Ronan. Still, his argument wasn't something she could brush to the side lightly (or easily). So Zap stepped back toward him and wedged herself so her feet were between his, then rested her cheek against his shoulder. She wanted to hold him and tell him he was speaking nonsense, and at the same time, she wanted to slap him on the ass for the possibility that he was feeding her bullshit excuses just because he didn't want to smell spit-up. "Is that was this is about? There's no way of knowing unless you try," she spoke away from him into the unfinished room. Zap sighed against him. "I love you.
