Ronan had had a long day. Eva and Zap had been working on various machines throughout the mansion and were doing a fine job, but there was still a lot to do. He'd been working his ass off updating the Danger Room files and mechanics. After he'd finished with that, he'd set the controls and tried out the new programs himself. They were quite excellent. He would have to get some of the others down soon to test it out themselves. After tinkering around in his lab some, he'd decided to take a break and go nap for a bit. It was a rare habit, but when he was exhausted, he gave in. He lay in his bed for a few minutes before finally succumbing to weariness.
Her day hadn't gone as quickly as she liked, but she'd been in a good mood since early in the morning (thanks to settling her issues with Mr. Rasputin). Farm chores, check. Techie chores, check. Food... double check. She made her way down to the basement and had found a note in the workshop - a to-do list for her and a 'm sleepin' from Ronan. She worked for an hour or more and after the list was scratched through to the bottom, she made her way to see in on him. He was sleeping soundly and she smiled a small smile at the sight of it. He looked quite different unconscious as he did when he was awake. Loads less energy bounced from his being. His energy often rivaled the level emitted by Piotr or Brian. She moved to the bedside and sat, then touched his upper arm to wake him. "Psssst."
Thank god his power worked while he was asleep, he knew who had wakened him immediately. If Zap would have been anyone else, they might have gotten hurt. Years of waking to the horrors he had, tended to make one wake up shooting before thinking. He wanted to growl at her for waking him like that anyway, but when he saw the smile on her face he decided not to rock the boat. "What's goin' on?" he asked more gruffly than he'd intended as he raised up to sit next to her.
"I just wanted to see you." Her smile faltered a bit, "I didn't want to wake you up, so I finished that list you left. I think you've been asleep for a while." She took a few breaths before offering another smile and moving so she could sit with her legs dangling. "How was your day?" From the looks of it, not well. Her hand went to his leg and she rubbed gently, awaiting his answer.
Ronan gave Zap an apolgetic smile when he noticed her smile fade slightly. He gave her a quick one-armed hug and a peck on the cheek before he spoke. "You're an angel." he said of getting the list done. He knew he could count on her. "My day?" he asked, shifting his weight so he was closer to her. "It was productive." He briefly explained the Danger Room and a few of the other tasks he'd completed ending with "then I broke Gus's camera." He looked at her fondly for a moment before asking, "How was yer day, cailĂn?"
Zap's contented sigh could probably have been heard in the next room, but it didn't really matter. Things were deserted downstairs. "They better go easy on those things." They only had a few left, and she was pretty sure most of the electronics stores in the area had been pretty well cleaned out. She was grinning, and it didn't falter when she began answering his question. "I went up to do some things outside this morning and ended up talking with Pete. We, uh," she adjusted so she was entirely on the bed and facing Ronan, "patched things up." She glanced down to where her legs were crossed and then sneaked a peek back up at Ronan. She realized that her shoes were still on, and swung her legs back off. She began untying the laces, "He said he forgives me, and I apologized for not being around a lot. I think we were both feeling the same way. It's silly to act like you don't care about someone after something like that." FLING! Her left shoe hit the dresser and she went to work on the right laces.
He gave a slight nod in agreement about the boys taking care of the electronics. Her next words made him tense up and he had to force his facial features to remain in a smile. Pete. Great. "Ah." He had to fight a twitch as she said her next words. "That's good." He knew that Zap didn't dislike Pete (as much as he would have liked her to) and that she wouldn't go running back to him on a whim (he hoped), but it still irked him to listen to her prattle on about the Russian. He was probably an ass for thinking that way, he knew, but it was the truth. He watched her as she messed with her shoes. He could care less that her shoe-clad feet were on his bed. He was too busy thinking on what she'd said. "Aye." he agreed with her last statement. He glanced over at the shoe that had smacked against the dresser before his hand shot out, knocking her's away from her remaining shoe. He moved so he could hug her and he angled his head to give her a firm kiss on her mouth. He didn't feel the need to speak, sometimes actions spoke louder. She was his. And he wanted it to remain that way forever.
Whoa. Zap did as was suggested and let loose of her shoe as she was pulled into Ronan's embrace. She nearly melted against him, but felt the tension in his body, and had noticed the eerie look in his eyes before coming after her. He seemed a little aggressive, and that was freakin' adorable. She'd been a bit afraid to tell him, honestly, on account of apparently she talked too much, and that it was common sense not to talk about your ex excessively with your new significant other. But she wasn't regretting it. He felt so unbelievably warm against her, and strong. The electrokine returned the kiss and shifted so she was closer to him, returning the hug at full force as well. When she needed a proper breath, she drew back and relaxed against him for a moment. "I love you too." She wasn't smiling, her face was relaxed and she felt completely at ease. "I'm here with you, now." She said against his neck.
He held her close and wound his fingers through her dark hair. After a minute, he loosened his hold slightly and rested his head on top of Zap's. He let out a sigh and smirked a little at her words. He knew she did and he knew she was, but it made him feel more at ease to hear her say it. It was hard for him to communicate certain feelings. He knew that he loved the woman next to him, however, and he wanted her to know it. "So," he said, moving his hand to her thigh and stroking it gently with his thumb. "How busy's yer evening lookin'?"
"I think that depends on us." She said with a smirk, "Because I'm free and clear." She grasped his hand where it lay on her upper leg and squeezed it tightly before bringing it to her lips and kissing the back of his fingers soundly. She moved the hand and the arm attached to it up over her shoulder so he was holding her again, then scooted so she was closer to being in his lap. Zap kicked off the other shoe and rested her head against his shoulder so she could kiss his neck while they figured out how to fill their time.
