His senses in his human form were good enough to alert him, from the distance of down the hall, that there was a feline in the vicinity of the library. Scott genuinely did not like cats. Big, small, house or wild, he didn't appreciate them being in what he considered to be 'his' territory. It was a mixture of both his human and animal sides, he'd always thought, never being overly fond of cats in his younger years and discovering an absolute loathing for them during his first few months at Xavier's. He'd spent a good deal of time chasing strays away from the mansion's gates.
He was well aware that there were many people who kept dogs and cats as pets together at the same time. He knew that interspecies truces could be called between the animals if enough time was spent together. Scott, unfortunately, had never been ready to call that truce. He was always bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter than the strays he'd chased off the mansion property.
Then came Sun.
The entire mansion might smell like cat on a particularly bad day, and while it was probably just as bad for Sun, Scott didn't much care. The wolf side of him resented the fact that a truce had been called. It didn't quite see the point. The point being that two team members tearing each other apart on a daily basis didn't make for the best working environment. Scott understood this and his human side was perfectly happy to just leave Sun alone, and even to be cordial. The problem became that his wolf side was generally always present, and his wolf side became annoyed and agitated very easily when the entire hallway smelled of cat. It only became worse when Scott actually walked into the library and saw Sun sleeping in a sunny patch by the window.
He had to remind himself that he was in a walking cast for a reason and that Jean would murder him if they had to go back to the vet's. Still, he could see the way Sun's ears pricked up and the way he moved his paws ever so slightly. Threat, the tiny voice in his head spoke up as he stepped by Sun to make his way towards a bookshelf.
"Hello, Sun," Scott said, voice slightly strained.
