There was a part somewhere right before the middle of the song where the piano took on a solo and this was the moment Wanda saw her brother sulking in the dark corners of the cafe when she opened her eyes. Since she was already smiling, the tips of her lips simply moved higher up and anyone can tell the delight from her eyes at his presence.
"Show me the flowers invisible..." she sang again when her cue came, tilting her head to the same direction as her eyes wandered from face to face. It was probably much to her and her brother's luck that her lover had an early shift the next day so had left a little into her previous two songs. This should save them some ire for the night, she figured.
The song took on a higher note and Wanda moved according to the pitches, hitting them just right as the words formed and echoed out of her mouth. Pretty soon, she would be singing the words 'So close to you...' in an ending note and her hand swept over to gesture to Pietro until the song finished.
And then another round of polite applause as Wanda thanked her audience with nods and a curtsey. She'd talked to her back-up band before she left the stage by which time they began playing an instrumental jazz piece as she approached the night's host. Normally, this sudden break would be 'uncalled for' but as she has been giving them satisfactory performances and well, to call Pietro a 'regular' was to underestimate his record of visits, they let it pass.
"Pietro," Wanda called to her brother as she jogged over to him, sharp heels on deep carpet, and bent to press a kiss on his cheek. "You came!" though she was not surprised, it was just a pleasant thought in itself to be left unsaid. Sitting beside him as she gestured for the waitress to bring down her drink, she imitated the way her brother held his head, "How did I do?"
