There were so many of them, just so many of them. They just kept coming despite everything he threw at them, and then they breached the wall, but Thorn kept fighting even as he worried about his brother inside of the wall. Demon's powers would be of little use with this roaring mob.
While the chaos still raged on, Boom Boom had gone further back towards the main entrance of the mansion to keep the rogue Darkseekers that had managed to get past the first and second lines from entering the building; which left Wanda on her own again. Luckily, a majority of the creatures were too preoccupied with the other fighters to focus too much attention on her; so this bout of downtime gave Wanda plenty of time to assess the situation at hand. Their numbers had dwindled considerably since the beginning of the battle, but there were still enough of them left over to take all of them out - if they got too cocky or too self-assured, or just plain careless.
Ever vigilant still (despite the fact that her body was aching with fatigue), Wanda's eyes scanned her immediately vicinity for any unwelcome pests. Everyone seemed to be holding their own, as far as she could tell. Well, at least she thought that until she spotted Thorn off in the distance, who appeared to be showing the tell-tale signs of being overwhelmed. Visibly worried, she suddenly broke out into a run, heading in Galen's direction.
He was tired, he was pretty sure they were all tired. Except maybe those nutcases Wolverine and Sabretooth. The area around him looked strange and twisted, natural growing pattern disrupted by his manipulation of the area around him. Too many, he thought, too many of them were getting past him but there was nothing more he could do. He could focus on more than most but even he had his limitations.
As she neared Galen, Wanda heard footsteps - loud, quick footsteps that sounded like they were heading her way. She stopped in her tracks and turned to see who, or what was running at her... And then she saw them: there were about six to eight of the cannibals barreling straight at her, mouths agape and they looked ready to pounce.
She shouldn't have stopped running; she shouldn't have stopped to look; she should've kept moving; but she hadn't and now it may have been too late. Raising up her arms in defense, she began to channel her abilities and a strange, purple-ish haze seemed to envelop her hands, wrists, and her forearms; she'd be damned if she was going to let things end like this. She wasn't about to become some rabid humans meal; unfortunately most of her power was totally reliant on her physical state, and at the moment the Scarlet Witch's body was beginning to fail her.
Thorn heard something, he wasn't sure what, but it made him look over the where Scarlet Witch was. He saw the group of Darkseekers headed for her and envelope around her in what seemed like mere seconds. He cried out. "Wanda!" And then reacted. He threw all of his power not at defeating or killing, but absolutely demolishing the creature that had dared attack Wanda. They were torn to bits as if they were an abomination on the earth that needed to be obliterated. However, changing his focus to Wanda had left himself open to an attack as well.
He hadn't even been able to see if Wanda was ok before he himself was tackled to the ground. Galen tried to get them off of him, but seeing him down had thrown them into a frenzy. One had a hand pressed down on his throat and was leaning forward, looking like he was about to bit the only part of Thorn showing, his face.
