Morro, Toad & Storm
Ororo closed her eyes to the sound of Mystique's voice with uncharacteristic childishness. It irked her a bit to hear Raven Darkholme firing off orders while Charles Xavier stood ready and able. She did, however, fix her gaze on the far tower when she exited the mansion, and sure enough, Toad was hanging behind Morro, looking ready to abandon the spot the first chance he had. Her feet lifted from the cobblestone walkway and she swung forward on a current, headed straight for the top of the post.
As the X-Men began to play, Morro felt a little more confident in the battle. The creatures' main focus was the center of the line of towers - far enough away from her and Toad. She was having more and more trouble forcing them to fight each other and found herself picking them up and crashing them against the wall and the earth. Behind her, Toad looked happy enough with muttering warnings and suggestions into the radio to other combatants while she did the brunt of the work. Not that there was much he could do - and he was staying with her, after all. "I think we've got some backup." She overheard Mystique on her headset - Storm was coming.
Morty was both annoyed and relieved. He wanted to get down in the business end of it all before the fight was through. He'd seen a few nasty ones he wanted to pick off himself. But of course, their relief was Ororo 'Do You Know What Happens...' Munroe. That bitch. He squinted toward the mansion and saw the witch flying toward them. At least she was being quick about it. "You're set now, love." He told Morro, an unusual calm in his voice that he inherited when he was in battle. When he turned from the white-haired wench, he had to snap into action. Holy fuck!
A Darkseeker had lunged toward the perch and flew over the railing - its arms enveloping Morro as it did so. It was halfway to the earth on the other side of the wall when his tongue flung out, snared its leg and ripped it back up and over the wall. Morro flew out from its grasp. The sudden jerk from the impact of the creature, then being snatch from its clutches and landing on the cold ground beyond took their toll. Toad's face turned back in time to see Morro land mostly on her head, her body pile-driving in behind, with the momentum of the sling behind it. He knew her neck was broken. He turned immediately back toward the 'battlefield', however, knowing full well that if one could do it, there would be more.
Storm had witnessed the event from the air, and when she landed, it was atop the tower, next to Toad. She barely cast him a glance, but there was fury in her eyes and she outstretched her right hand, eyes glowing bright white and the sky above beginning to rumble with her anger. Within moments, a bolt of lightning shot down from the heavens and struck the male creature who had been slung back out into the oncoming hoard by Toad. The energy spread and sparked and several more bolts came, striking down a dozen other Darkseekers around the fallen attacker. Once she knew their immediate vicinity was clear, Ororo turned to see what was happening behind her where the blue-haired woman lay, now with Toad crouched over her.
He'd jumped from the tower when Storm began her show - knowing full well she could handle herself. She had handled him, after all. He landed purposefully next to Morro and moved close to inspect the damage.
