Troy had been aiming for a guard tower to scale after leaving Will behind at the first line of hand-to-handers. He was close to the tower John was occupying when he heard Iceman call his name. He moved quickly to get to the top, and when he reached the final rungs, John reached behind himself and offered Torrent a hand.
Troy wasn't really surprised, but he was grateful - he grunted his thanks and set sights on Bobby. The cryokine was working on saving the wall - but it had been taken. The hand-to-hand fighters were moving into action, and Troy was determined to keep as many Darkseekers from reaching them now as possible.
He knew what Bobby was on to. "Get ready," he called, loudly. It didn't matter who heard or what they thought it meant. He knew Bobby was listening for his response and would do what he needed to do when the time came. He focused in on the cold, damp spring earth outside the wall where the majority of the creatures were still stampeding. A foggy, gurgling swamp began to rise up from the grassy lawn and the creatures sloshed and stumbled through the much. As the water rose, it began to clear up and when it reached the level just above their knees, Troy caught sight of Bobby to see if he was ready. There must have been at least a hundred in the bog Troy had created. He kept his concentration locked on the water, though - if he let up, it would splash back to the earth and spread out into mud that would hardly slow them down.
