Josiah has an under developed danger sense that he’s been working to enhance with help from the professor. However, in this case there was no premonition at all. He was as startled by the alarm as everyone else. He followed Brian but went back real quick to place a few corks on some test tubes. He knew it was just a matter of time before the infected ambushed the mansion, but he was prepared.
He kept his x-suit in one of the cabinets in the lab. He rarely used his locker, especially because Will and Troy liked leaving little “presents” for him. He spent the majority of his time in the lab, so it only made sense that his stuff remained there as well. He suited up and adjusted the crotch, it had been a long time since he wore it. While heading upstairs he ran into Silver. Her request had made him uncomfortable at first, but then he realized that they could use all the help they could get.
“Okay, but you have to stay down here. There are red metal shelves to the back of the lab that have all of our emergency equipment. There are folded cots in there too. I need you to line up a few beds here in the hall way and bring the supplies out here too. I‘ll be back as soon as I figure out what‘s going on.”
Joe had no idea how serious the injuries would be, or even if there would be any at all, but he was ready. His powers were useful, but he could only be in one place at a time. The make-shift sick-bay in the hall would assure immediate treatment to anyone in case he was preoccupied. He knew he needed to stay out of harms way, but he also knew that not everyone would be able to come to him.
While joining the crowd and listening to Xavier’s instructions, he understood the magnitude of the situation a little more. He looked around, partly to see what other’s reactions were, but also looking for Northstar. He knew the Canadian would be in the heart of this battle which turned Joe’s stomach. He was worried, very worried. Out of all the time spent, weapons developed, drills ran, and tactics planned, it all came down to this moment. His confidence was lacking.
