The horror of the invasion hadn't hit Joe until he began to see the injured flowing in. After the professor's briefing he made trips back and forth between the lab and where they seemed to have set up a command post in front of the mansion. Coordination was almost a complete failure, but he had hoped that people would take the wounded to that spot so he could tend to them. When the words "Morro's down" came through his headset, he wonder if this would be the first of many deaths. He wish he could have at least seen her for himself before her death was confirmed, but it was too dangerous to go venturing off and play doctor.
After trying to catch a glimpse of their first fatality, the person he least expected appeared behind him. Silver had teleported with Northstar, who was unconscious and severely injured. This was what he worried about. He knew Northstar was a great X-Man, but he also knew that the Canadian was always prideful. Joe ran to the two and pushed Silver off of him, not out of anger but urgency.
"What happened!?"
Joe placed his hands on Jean-Paul's chest. Images began to flash through Joe's head. He could see all the way down to the cell damage in his body. He was concentrating and using a lot of his energy to heal him. There were so many distractions, but Recon kept his eyes closed and focused as hard as he could. Everything from his internal bleeding to fractured bones appeared as bright fleeting pictures in his mind. The emotions were kept at bay when he was in his working mode, it was a useful mental barrier he had. Everyone in healthcare develops one after a while. After a few minutes, the more severe and life threatening injuries were taken care of. Everything else would have to wait for now. Josiah was exhausted. He had meant to conserve his energy but Northstar required too much attention. The consequences of that came when Pyro approached them holding a lifeless Iceman.
"Put him on one of the stretchers down there!", Joe ordered Silver while pointing to Northstar, whom was still out of it.
Joe ran over to where John had placed Bobby. He looked up at Pyro and gave him a look with two meanings. One was a concerned look, the other was a thankful look for possibly saving Bobby's life. Kitty was tagging along with distraught worries. Joe ignored her and grabbed Bobby's cold hand and placed his fingers around his wrist. He didn't need to feel for a pulse, as Josiah could immediately see his vital signs in his mind. His blood pressure was low, meaning he was bleeding out somewhere. His heart rate was speeding as his cardiovascular system attempted to compensate. Joe didn't have the power left to heal him, he needed real medicine. Joe grabbed his arms and began to drag him to the med lab. He shouted into his headset.
"Brian or Jean, I need one of you down here to help me! Bobby has severe injures and needs surgery stat!"
The doctor looked to Kitty who was following wondering what was going to happen, Joe aggressively responded.
"There's nothing you can do, you can't be with him during surgery, you need to go back out there and fight. I'm sorry, I'll do everything I can for him, but they need you out there."
