"I don't know," Wren said, hoisting herself up (with Brian's assistance). "Pete could probably do it," she teased, while she smoothed out the front of her dress with her free hand. They were as thick as thieves, those two.
"I guess you're used to it, huh?" Wren, of course, was referring to her fellow shrimpette, Jubilee. "I imagine she's more at ease on a dance floor than either of us." Not saying that she couldn't move when she had to, but she wouldn't exactly call herself a pro.
Hmm. Where was Jubilee, anyway?
Reaching out now, Wren took ahold of the arm Brian had so generously offered and they began moving out towards the dance floor. There were already several people dancing (if you could refer to it as such) and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Having pushed her half-brother out of her mind, she was more determined than ever to enjoy the rest of the evening.
So what if he showed up? It wasn't like she was obligated to talk to him....
After they had secured themselves a spot out on the floor, Wren maneuvered herself out in front of Brian, so she was facing him. And then she smiled. "Ready to take the lead?"
