Oh thank god, a familiar voice. Wren leaned forward to set her wine glass on the small table, then glanced up at the hulking figure that was Brian Braddock, towering above her. A smile then broke out across her face, which appeared to be out of both amusement and relief.
"Why thank you Brian," she replied with a small laugh, while pulling more of her dress in, just in case he wanted to take a seat. Britannic had been a charmer for as long as she had known him, but whenever he made a sweet remark, he usually meant it. "You look as dashing as ever," Wren commented, just before the subject changed.
Was she hiding from someone? Her first instinct was to say 'no,' but that'd be a lie and she really didn't see the point in lying. Least of all to someone she considered to be a good friend. "Sort of, I guess," she said, her shoulders rolling into a half-hearted shrug. "I'm trying to avoid Christian." Her half-brother. She was positive that Brian was already in the know about him, so she didn't bother to elaborate.
She'd bitched about him enough for most people to know that they didn't get along. At all.
"I really don't know if he's going to show up or not, but it's better to be safe than sorry." Right?
