As Emma spoke, some of her words sounded alarm bells in his head. Power, gratitude, ignored, appreciate; these words and the tone of Diamond's speech gave Pete reason to pause. The rational side of Colossus was screaming out inside his own head, 'What does she want?', 'Why is she talking to me?'... But the pleas for reason were going larger unheard. 'Why wouldn't she want to talk to me?' Pete answered his own questions. The darker, more selfish side of the Tinman had indeed been given a boost by the Upir virus. The humbleness Emma had just spoke of was having a much harder time coming to surface. Since he'd been turned, Pete had forced himself to remain quiet rather say or do what he wanted, something altogether new for the Russian.
Her hand found his leg and Pete fought back a shudder. God, that felt good, he thought as it traveled up his thigh. None of them cared. Pete thought in response to Emma's telepathic message. No, I don't mean that, but I just want... Pete just wanted someone to love him, Brian blew through women like tissues and Piotr was continually rejected. Zap's betrayal had been the worst. Anger was finding its way into Piotr's heart; it seemed to be the lone thing keeping the lust at bay.
Everything Emma had said was making perfect sense to Pete, but in a wrong way. He had thought all those same things but ignored the ideas and forced them down to deepest part of himself. But now, hearing someone else echo them, it made them all come roaring back to life. This whole situation was odd. "What are you getting at Emma?" A glimpse of rational Piotr poked through. His eyes squinted a bit at the blond bombshell but he made no effort to remove her hand. Yes, Piotr was enjoying this much too much.
