It wasn't unusual for the electrokine to go without sleep for days on end, but with recent events playing on her mind and body, she was beginning to feel the need to pass out for a few (12?) hours. Still, she didn't mind keeping a new schedule... Ronan had been working at night and sleeping during the light for the past few days. Despite his determination to set things 'back to normal', work had been a bit distracted for everyone down in the security room, workshop and science labs. There was definitely a change in the air. All of this was part of the reason Zap had agreed to come along for some fresh air and some quiet outside. From what she understood, most of the Upir Virus infectees had the urge to be outside during the darkest hours of the day. Fine by her, if not a little creepy. Her limbs and torso were still a bit sore from her late night in the Danger Room the previous evening, so stretching out and getting a walk in with the cool air could only improve her stiffness. Maybe it would loosen Mars up some, too...
They headed toward the back of the property at a leisurely pace, Zap keeping quiet for the most part. She knew his ears were still sensitive, or at least supposedly (not that he'd complain outright), so she didn't want to prattle on too much. As they passed the basketball court, the smell of the pool was carried past them on the breeze and it made her remember that it would be closing up for the cooler months soon... or probably should have been already. There were more important things on peoples' minds than draining the outdoor pool, she supposed. However clean it smelled, she still preferred the aroma that came off the lake. She hadn't been this far back on the property in months. As they neared the larger body of water, she marveled at how familiar it felt, and how little it had changed in the largely different world around them. It was nice. As she pulled her jacket closed in front, she finally spoke with a hint of a smile, "The moon is almost full." It was a bit cloud-covered, but still just as bright. The back of Zap's fingers (and rings) brushed against the back of Ronan's (a test?), then she grasped his hand lightly and released it again. Her eyes shifted from the reflection of the moon across the water to look into her husband's. The moon was reflected there, too. His eyes looked even more fierce now. The water was much more soothing, and that's where her green gaze settled.
