Jeanne-Marie nodded, catching but ignoring the doubt that seemed to linger in Jean-Paul's voice. "Yes, of course they will. And I'm sorry you have to deal with it. I wish there was more I could do." Her brow knit and she frowned, unable to stop the sadness from crossing her face. She'd hoped she'd get through this crisis without it touching her life so closely, but that hope was misplaced.
"Bien sûr, je ne vous laisserai pas, mon frère." Jeanne-Marie smiled, glad that she was so easily able to agree to something that might just help him. "I'm always here, I promise you that. Please promise me that if you need to talk, you will come to me." She gave him an encouraging look, hoping that he understood just how important that promise was to her. Talking made her feel better about everything. She hoped she could offer him that same relief.
