"That, or something worse." Will said in response to Zap's comment about the floor falling out. They waited there for a moment in silence, "Maybe." Will caught a glance over his shoulder, "What?" Will hadn't noticed the sound but something told him they needed to get back from the well. Too late. Before he could grab Zap and pull her from the opening the monster had shown its ugly self. And here Will had thought Zap might have been joking about the mythical snake monster. Will jumped back and waited for an opportunity. Zap stuck first, giving the fierce-faced lizard a mild shock. He wondered if she could kill it, or if it could be killed that way. He didn't want Zap to drain herself too quickly, this might not be the worst thing they face. But it was hard to imagine something much worse than this. Will planted his feet and pulled his arms up into a defensive position. He took aim at the snake monster and pulled his right arm back, as if he were cocking a weapon. He sent his hand forward in one quick motion, palm out, and delivered a telekinetic thrust into the beast. The blast sent the creature hurling sideways toward the wall of the castle. "Hit it again Zap!" If this tactic showed promise, they might just keep it up.
