Jay's eyes immediately narrowed at Sam's first attempt at a conversation. Sure, it wasn't a secret that he spent a good amount of his time alone, holed up in his room -- but there was something about Sam, of all people, pointing that out.
"It's a'right, Ah guess." His shoulders rose and fell in a passive shrug as he moved his hand to start to twist the tuning peg of the first string to loosen the broken strand of steel. When the string was freed, he balled it up the best he could and shoved it into the pocket of his jeans. "Ain't doin' much for mah music. Jes' restrung this last week an' this is the second one that'd gone an' broke on me."
Finally lifting his gaze from the instrument up to his brother, Jay would have truly been surprised if Sam looked at all interested in his music related lamenting. "Ya'll come looking fer me or what?"
