"Water is fine," Eva replied to Conlan, while she and Zap settled on the couch together. Anything more than water seemed a little too frivolous for a time such as this.
A moment passed in silence before she heard Zap speak again and she couldn't help but smile. Scott had been the only one not to sustain any injury (or at least anything life-threatening), and yet the rest of the team had been downed - including that of the Weather Witch. That one seemed to be the one she was having a hard time comprehending. When Zap added that something awful had happened, Matrix nodded.
"Yes, something terrible did happen. They were probably overwhelmed." The number of the Darkseekers (in the University) had been sketchy at best, but the Professor had said there might've been as many as a hundred... maybe even more.
"I actually passed Aurora in the hallway on my way here; she looked terrible," she informed them. Eva didn't really know Jeanne-Marie all that well, but she knew what it was like to be in the dark about your family's fate. At the beginning of the Cure Virus epidemic--before Xavier arranged for their families to be transported to safe-houses--Eva had been feeling a similar sensation of dread as Aurora probably was now.
