Eva saying 'chump' was enough to dry a few tears. Zap fought a smirk. Then Conny spoke again and she let it happen. She bet they did look a little spazzy. But could anyone blame them? It was a scary thought that half the people you know might be dead, and that one had returned 'from the grave'.
"Okay," she agreed to sitting, then moved back from the embrace. "It's not like you two," she paused to clear her throat, "aren't freaking out, too." She wasn't sure why all the focus was on her. It never made her comfortable. And she was empathetic enough to know that the two of them were scared crazy, as well. "We should celebrate your birthday early, Booger," she joked. A stiff drink probably wouldn't hurt, when she gave it a second thought. Zap pushed her sleeves up and moved toward the couch, which would accommodate all three (or just her). "God..." she still felt stunned. The monitors were blinking back at her and she began crying again, blinking them out. The screens popped to gray, then blacked out completely. Shit. "I don't wanna see what's happening in the rec room, anyway."
