Scoot's nerve had been about to snap in response to Kitty's concern. She looked to Shadowcat as a braver, more experienced X-Person. But even the bravest of people had to admit their situation was a little unnerving (to say the very least). "Yeah," she gasped, feeling as though if she fidgeted any harder she might explode. Wren's voice came across, then, and an inkling of hope sifted through the window of Scoot's wall of dread. Eddie's voice followed, encouragingly and she added, "What is it?" in a jumble of nearly-intelligible words. Her hand shot out and grasped Kitty's.
It wasn't a question of survival - it was a question of doing their job properly in the face of terror (and making sure everyone else did so as well). She could hear grunting growls now, and the sounds of things being knocked over in the neighboring stores. Her hand tightened around Shadowcat's and her legs twitched, ready to jump into action.
