The store was dank, dark... and dubious. The smell of it alone was enough to make Wren feel uneasy, as it smelt eeriely similar to the mall in which she had been staying; it had been overrun by infected humans, not to mention all of the dead and rotting bodies said creatures brought in after their hunts. If she hadn't gotten her powers then, she might've been forgotten amongst the collected dead; but it was probably best not to think of all of the 'what if' scenarios now.
Two days before this little trip, Wren had been called into Professor Xavier's study for a little meeting. At first, Wren had merely thought it was about a request she had submitted to him about becoming a Teacher's Assistant. While it certainly had been discussed (and accepted), he had other matters to talk over with her - namely the supply run mission. He had wanted someone to go with three other people to pick up a few things (mostly personal items, as well as a few things for the up-and-coming prom) and he wanted someone who had had some extensive experience dealing with Darkseekers to tag along.
She could've sworn that had felt the color leave her face the moment he had made this request of her. Wren was very reluctant to accept to handle such a task; it wasn't like she could protect everyone. Surely there had to be more people capable of doing this better than she could, but the Professor had been rather insistent (or persistent?) that she go. Eventually, she did cave and he seemed wholly satisfied.
Before he sent her on her way, he had given her a name - a codename to be more precise. It was more to serve precaution than anything else, unless, of course, she wished to become an X-Man full time. But, Wren opted not to make a definitive decision, at least not until she had more time to mull it over.
Honestly. Her. An X-Man.
It was entirely too weird to even think about. But, for now, she was Flux, the unofficial X-Woman.
Though, she had to admit, it had a nice ring to it.

Once the four women had gathered near one of the cash registers near the front, Wren finally spoke up, albeit quietly, "So, where should we start first?" To be perfectly honest, Wren was just anxious to get this shopping trip over and done with as soon as possible. She really didn't care from what point on the list they'd begin with; being in a place like this was giving her unpleasant flashbacks.
[OOC: Hope this is okay. Just let me know if I need to change anything!]
