For the last few hours, the foursome had made light, pleasant conversation, enough to give hope to the idea of regaining the friendship from before. It seemed all of them had the same idea to avoid the past, and even when the conversation seemed to drift that way, someone managed to steer it back. Talking, though, was not the focus of the evening for Kitty. Quite often the song switched, and after a loud "I love this song!", she pulled John onto the floor and only returned to the tables when a song either of them didn't like flipped on - a fairly rare occurrence.
Even with the limited time the four of them were together, Kitty could tell Bobby had another issue on the back of his mind. A glance at Rogue told her she saw it, too, and both of them decided within a few looks that they should leave him and John alone. So, after an offer to replenish the snacks, the two girls stepped away from their dates and sauntered over to the refreshments, taking their time of partially dancing and partially mingling on the way; the phaser, though, made sure to keep the boys in the corner of her eye, just in case John needed to be dragged out on the floor again. Not that he couldn't handle himself, but the awareness made her feel better. "Oh, geeze," Kitty said, cringing away from a plastic cup in her hand, "That's so strong." She had had the brilliant idea to try the spiked punch, and clearly she didn't have the tolerance level for it. Extending the cup to Rogue, she wrinkled her brow and asked, "Have you tried this?"
