Who: X-Men (open to Brotherhood accompanying X-Men) When: Saturday, August 9th, 2008 (7pm - whenever!) Where: Xavier's; outdoors under a tented pavilion What: The Prom! Status: in progress Rating: PG-13
Ororo, Jean, Lorna and a host of volunteers (both male and female) had spent their Friday setting up the pavilion and filling it with everything they could that was necessary so early on. Saturday morning at Xavier's was a flurry of activity and excitement as the finishing touches were completed and people began preparing for the evening that lay ahead. Folks were grabbing late lunches and light dinners and utilizing each others' talents for various primping procedures (hair, makeup, the tying of ties, etc).
When 6:30 rolled around, most of the elder X-Men had congregated at the entrance of the pavilion, along with Gus (who had agreed to take photos of promgoers upon their arrivals) and his date, Joe.
As the younger crowd began to arrive, the music was started and food and drink were declared 'up for grabs!'.
The first song to be played was the old school ice-breaker Gonna Make Ya Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) - which got some laughs from young and old. Who actually danced to the track was up for debate...
