A few moments later, with some hesitation, "Sure thing, Scott." He was at the sink washing the cleaner off his hands and adjusted his scrubs before he moved from the infirmary. It wasn't as though the workshop was too far off. If there was an emergency, well, he could be back in two shakes. "Something the matter?" he asked into his headset before arriving.
"Just get down here." Came the reply. Scott had debated taking a seat in one of the several well-worn office chairs but decided to stand instead, at least until they had Brian seated and aware of what was coming. He moved closer to the door, and when it opened and Brian stepped inside, he motioned across the way to one of the chairs. "Take a seat, okay?" He made sure the door was closed, then stood with his lower back resting against the doorknob. "What's been on your mind lately?" Scott began, easily. His eyes flicked to Ronan who was still back at the workbench.
Brian had entered with a sneaking suspicion that some deviousness was afoot. Therefore, when Scott motioned for him to sit, he did so willingly. He didn't want any more trouble than he could avoid. "Not too very much, aside from working on the cure and things." It had been found, but there was the issue of delivering it that was still in question. How were they supposed to safely administer radiation - and a type that was engineered to harm mutants. "Why do you ask?"
Ronan stood from where he sat at his workstation to walk over to the panel of monitors and he leaned against it (arms crossed) as he listened to Brian's answer. Things, eh? "Because we need ta talk about what (and who) ye've been doin' over recent weeks."
Who? Why was that any of their business - really? It hadn't affected his work. It really hadn't. Brian looked back away from Ronan and met eyes with Scott (who's were masked behind ruby-colored lenses). He quirked an eyebrow as if Scott would let out a laugh and tell him this was all a joke. No. It didn't seem things were going to be that way. Cyclops looked on, evenly. "What of it?" he asked, finally. "If this is about Edana, well, I didn't mean to hurt her. And insults were thrown from both parties." He looked back to Ronan then. People throughout the mansion had been in and out of love and had been hurt. His own best friend had been wounded terribly by Ronan's actions, indirectly.
"It's about that, what caused it, and what's went on since, Brian." Scott said.
"I'll apologize, I planned to," the Brit interjected. "You know, we've all done our share of hurting people we love." Again, his eyes found Mars, but he spoke in the direction of Scott. "Zap threw a pretty hard blow to Pete, after all. Then no one saw her for weeks. I bet that felt really great."
Ronan's eyes narrowed at Brian's cheek. "That's a little different, Brian. For one, Zalika didn't go behind Pete's back and cheat on him when I told her how I felt about her. And two, I'm not her god damned brother."
