Shan continued to ignore the reptilian woman, "Oui, you'd think they were married by the way he was acting." Jean-Paul was the king of drama queens and Shan knew Emma wasn't ignorant of that fact.
Karma pulled the top off her red marker and opened the first folder before her. "But it's not important, he will get over it. How are you doing, Emma?"
Emma simply nodded. She couldn't disagree. "Aside from the boredom, just peachy." She was being sincere, despite who it might've sounded. "There's hardly any trouble to get in around here, eh?" it was a pity. Well, there was plenty of trouble, but Emma had done an exceptional job of keeping Xavier from breathing down her neck, thus far. She didn't like having someone to answer to, but it was all part of the deal, wasn't it?
"I suppose we could all do with a bit of excitement, though." The three of them in the room. Emma and Shan at least had their scholarly duties to concern themselves with. The telepath couldn't even consider what she might be doing with herself were she left to stew over her fallen assets and empire. At least there were pretty men to look at. "Making friends?" she asked Evelyn all of a sudden.
