Wolverine gave his uniform a few stretches and tugs as he walked through the sub-basement into hangar. 'This thing never got more comfortable,' he thought while standing at the base of stairs extended from the Blackbird II waiting for the rest of his team. The Brit, the elf, frosty, Irish, mini-me, Zap, and Rainbow Bright. Just one Russian and one Native short of 'super squad'. Going into the Pentagon right now was even worse an idea than busting in it before. Logan had a feeling they were going to need all their big guns on this one. Logan knew they couldn't take everyone; someone had to stay behind at the mansion. But he didn't exactly want to be sitting in the same confined space with the Tinman and crazy eyes (Mars). Not that it wouldn't be hilarious. Oh, he almost forgot. The tag along, Evelyn. At least she could handle herself, last thing he wanted to do was babysit. Well, she wasn't going to be his problem, Logan had already worked out the trio of three-person teams in his head.
Will was the next in the hanger after Wolverine and gave the older man a nod. Butterflies flapped around in his stomach as he spoke, "Should be fun."
Logan scoffed. "Which part? Breaking into the most highly secured building in the world, probably infested with Darkseekers, angry humans, or both? Or the six hours of sitting in the jet while we wait for the sun to go down so hopefully all the Darkseekers leave to go hunt?" Logan shot back.
"Yeah right, this is gonna suck... Zap'll crack first." Will answered commenting on the hours of confinement and boredom.
"Oh yeah... her or Bobby." Wolverine cracked a smile. "You're with Brian and Eve," he told the pup.
"Oh good, Lady Voldemort. You suck, Logan." Shard took the first step onto the jet.
"Rather have Bobby?"
"I'm thinkin'." Will shouted down at his fearless leader.
Brian was aware of the line up ahead of time, mostly because he had requested it with the Professor. He had organized most of the mission and had worked for a few days with level layouts and security codes and the like in preparation. After suiting up and entering the hangar, the Brit realized there was going to be a power struggle when he saw Logan dealing out assignments and groupings. He rolled his eyes a bit, but he wasn't going to fuss. If Xavier wanted Wolverine in charge, so be it. Brian wasn't there to bark orders, anyway. He wanted information and he wanted it quickly. "I'll watch your back, Will," Brian remarked, half-joking, as he lifted himself up into the jet, forgoing the stairs.
"Guys?" came a female voice from a panel under the jet. "I can hear you, ya know." Zap was checking all of the inner workings of the immensely hi-tech beast of an aircraft before takeoff, having suited up early to allow time for such things. "It'll be Bobby..." she trailed off when she noticed a loose wire, thought 'that could've been bad' and continued, "... to crack first." She grinned to herself, then climbed down out of the shaft, and slid the panel closed behind her. She shifted her weight and moved to the ladder, then dropped to the ground under the jet. "If Ronan shoots him, I can't be held accountable." She found the rungs with her hands and headed up to start pre-flight.
"Ye won't be." Ronan assured Zap from the cockpit, where he was re-checking the control panel one final time before lift off. The last thing they all needed was to have a malfunction and get stuck in DC. He didn't care how many technicians were on board, he wasn't crashing. Screw that shit. Zap had checked the engine already. Good girl. It saved him time and he hadn't had to ask her. He gave Brian a look when the large man entered the jet before he commented, "Ye look sorta tired, Braddock. Late night?"
BAMF! Kurt appeared in the jet with his usual smoke and brimstone. He was rather excited to get the chance to get out of the mansion for a bit, even if they were going into extremely dangerous territory. The last time he'd been in DC he'd been with Xavier and the rest of the crew when they'd spoken to the President. "Afternoon, William." Kurt grinned, ruffling the boy's hair as he walked past to get to his seat.
