"Kind of hard to do that when he's holed himself in the sub-basement with his work," she might've sounded a little more embittered, but Betsy understood Warren's situation. He felt responsible for the Cure Virus' existence, and no matter what people told him, he'd go on thinking that way. At least until he could make it right and clear his conscience again.
The saying 'Sins of the father' came to mind whenever she thought of Angel these days. Though, she had never really bought into that rubbish. How could you be responsible for someone else's actions? It wasn't like he had begged his father to create the Cure in the first place, anyhow. But, there was no rationalizing with the man in his state.
"You don't think anyone deserves me, Bri-Bri," she teased, though there was some semblance of truth in her words. "If it were up to you I'd be in a nunnery, taking my vows..." Okay, well, maybe not quite that extreme. Brian just wanted what was best for her, but the feeling was mutual.
"Oh, that makes me feel loads better," she said, mirroring him and sticking out her on tongue for a moment. She grinned again and scooted up a little, then proceeded to lay her head back in the crook of his arm.
"Cozy," she commented laughing a little, while she craned her neck to look back up to him.
