Despite Betsy's less-than-satisfying response, Brian didn't push it. She was fully aware of their mental link just as well as he was, and he knew all wasn't exactly well with his twin. She wasn't miserable either, it seemed. No more than anyone else. It pained him to see her satisfied with 'surviving', though. He knew he could tell her anything, and from previous experience, he was sure she knew how to open up as well. Her days weren't as hectic as his (thankfully) and he knew sometimes there just wasn't a whole lot to say.
After a heavy sigh, and a few moments of watching her blue eyes watching his, Brian raised his chin, "Bright, cold, bit depressing," there wasn't anyway to sugarcoat it - Betsy had been in the lab while they were working. It sort of sucked, but once you got lost in your work, things sort of drifted away and you were alone with your task. He stretched his back, then leaned over, letting his elbow catch him and sink into the bed, and he pulled his legs up to rest along the foot of the thing.
Ah - Eddie. "Well, you see her more than I do, don't you?" he wasn't asking - it was probably fact. Despite having moved in with the girl, he seemed to see her less and less after their reconciliation. Perhaps she hadn't fully forgiven him for dropping her like a bad habit? Made sense. And she tried to stay out of the way - which meant less visits down to the lab than by some other, more bold familiars of his (present company included). "She reads a lot." No big news there. "I work a lot." A shrug. Things weren't exactly burning up (which he preferred) but nothing had fizzled, either.
Table-turning time: he gave Betsy's knee a knock and then laid his fingers over it, "Anything progressing with the angelic one?" Warren was a good man, he just seemed a little distracted by life. But having missed most of it tended to make people curious and distant. And Warren was the only fellow in the place that Brian believed gave him a run for his money where looks were concerned; of course Betsy had set her sights on him. At least she wasn't going after some bad boy. Some Billy Badass. There were plenty of those running about lately, so he was thankful they'd dodged that bullet.
