Wanda had had her back towards the door when their father entered. She didn't turn around right away, instead she let her gaze linger upon the scenery beyond the glass window for a few moments before allowing herself to turn to lie her eyes upon Magneto. The expression worn upon her face was one of pure bewilderment. Like Pietro, she did not expect a visit from him today, nor had she expected him to remember what the day was for the twins.
She and her brother experienced similar emotions whenever they saw the man. Part of her desired to be closer to him, but another part of herself held him in contempt. Wanda sometimes wondered if he kept them as trophies, things to bring out to show off to the world... whenever it was convenient for him, of course. He preferred the company of that blue thing, Mystique, over his own children... can you imagine?
A thin, red-papered package was handed over to her after a moment and she took it, doing her best to look grateful. He had actually gotten them gifts. How quaint thoughtful, she thought to herself as she began to unravel her own present. Though, this time, she seemed in less of a hurry than she was when she had opened Pietro's gift to her.
Her mood seemed to have shifted again.
Once she had disposed of the wrapping paper, Wanda turned the thin album cover over a couple times to read about its contents. He had actually gotten something she liked and would be all too happy to use while Pietro and herself dined later.
"Thank you," she told her father, her tone humble. Her gaze flickered back over to her brother for a moment; she could tell he was trying to be respectful, but she knew of his inner turmoil all too well. Wanda was proud of her brother's restraint.
"We can find use for these, can't we, darling?" a small smile graced her lips just then, before her eyes shifted back over to Magneto.
These little family reunions were always a bit strained, which saddened the Scarlet Witch. But, it wasn't like they happened often enough to make them relaxed and of the norm.
