It didn't come to much of a surprise to Wanda to learn that her brother had braved the streets to get her a present. It just showed how much he was willing to sacrifice himself to do something nice for her, his 'precious' sister. But, it also reminded her that she hadn't been able to return the favor, which made her feel slightly guilty. She'd make up for her mistake, however.
Before she could inquire what he would like for his special day, he had made the comment about their age. A soft smirk graced her lips for the moment as she said, "Prime of our lives, darling? I do not know about that, but I suppose being thirty-five is not like it used to be." Age had changed drastically over the years, and she guessed thirty-five was the new twenty-five. How novel.

Those things are what she missed the most, but she did not miss the prejudice of its country's inhabitants. Sadly, prejudice was everywhere. She supposed it just felt more intense there, due to the fact that the villagers she taken their hatred to the next level and it had effected their parents.... just because they were different.
Wanda's shoulders relaxed at his touch and her eyes slid closed for a moment, savoring the moment of peace he had granted her. She loved her brother dearly. "I will treasure it always, Pietro," she had said, after she had opened her eyes again, the look of nostalgia lingering still.
