Despite the glee that came with one of Shan's bitch sessions, Gus didn't feel right about stirring up the feelings he had in either of his companions. His brow knitted at the center and he moved to where Joe stood, further from the lady. "Hey, I didn't know it was such a sore subject," his words were nearly mumbled. Gus himself hated being on display, especially when emotions were running high. His hand clasped on Joe's shoulder with a sympathetic gentleness and he glanced back toward Shan for a brief second. "You still have us," he finally added, after smirking a bit to Karma.
"Right?" his fingers squeeze lightly where they still rested and he dipped his neck to find Joe's gaze - as he seemed to not want to look at anyone. "Ya got me." His smile fell a bit, into something more sincere. He had Joe's back, and he knew now not to start bitchfests about Jean-Paul until Joe was good and ready. Sometimes it just hurt, and only time could help. Gus would respect that.
