Minimal word might have gotten around, but news as big as a break-up was something Zap thought she should deliver in person. She had a lot of news, actually, and some apologizing to do. So after she'd been up and about and gotten some breakfast, she made her way back upstairs to Brian and Piotr's old room that was now shared by Brian and Edana. When she got to the door, she fidgeted awkwardly a moment, realizing she rarely had to knock at this door before - she'd usually just gone right in. But she waited politely for a minute after knocking.
From the dorm bathroom came Brian, towel-clad and toothbrush in hand, "Go on in, Zap, she's up," he informed the brunette.
Zap quirked a brow, both at Brian's attire and the fact that he was sure of Eddie's state. It was kinda cute - with them back together. Brian wasn't so bad, either. She smirked and nodded, and he ducked back into the loo. "Eddie?" she asked, pushing open the door. "What's up?" she spotted the catlady and smiled a small smile.
Edana was attempting to fix her hair when she heard the knock on the door. She turned around to answer it, but paused when she heard Brian's voice followed by Zap's. Brian had told her about all that had gone on with her ex-roommate the last few days. He wouldn't share any major details, saying that Edana should go speak with Zap herself if she wanted to know more.
She met Zap at the door, throwing her arms around her friend in greeting. It felt like it had been weeks since she'd last seen her. She still felt horrible about the fight even though everything worked itself out. She was more concerned with how Zap was doing. "How have you been?" she asked, after she'd released her. It was a general question sure, but she wanted to gather her thoughts more before breaking into the recent events. "Come and sit so we can talk." She walked over to the couch and sat down. After Zap had sat, she looked her in the eyes. "I'm sorry." she said, glancing down at her hands that were folded on her lap.
When the door opened, Zap was properly glomped, and she returned the hug gladly. It was like a deep sigh after a long test. She knew it marked the end of discomfort and frustration. "I'm okay," she replied, and followed naturally behind Edana.
"Hey, me too," the electrokine admitted. "For a lot of reasons and to more than just you," she smirked a little, reluctantly. It changed into a small smile and she nudged her knee into Eddie's as she sat, "Are you feeling better?" Things hadn't gone the best for either of them lately. Zap wasn't the only one with issues.
"Yeah." Eddie said with an embarrassed smile. "I talked to Storm about everything the morning after (Scott made me). She told me to stop bottling things up." She didn't say 'Brian and I made up.' That was obvious. "Brian came into the infirmary and held me for like an hour until I fell asleep. Then the next day he moved all my stuff in here without telling me." She smiled a little and continued, "What's been happening with you?" Her tone held a small ring of knowledge, but she didn't want to sound too nosy.
"Recovered. Joe didn't do too bad, after all." Zap admitted. She was glad to hear Eddie had talked things out with someone who knew what they were talking about. And Brian had been close, too. So all was well with her friend, and they were both pretty well healed up. "As sudden as it was," she began, bravely, "I broke things off with Pete." Swallow. It was still so hard to say. The whole ordeal was hard to comprehend. "Mars came to see what happened with us - while we were in the infirmary. He sorta said he loves me. So." He had said he loved her. But she still felt semi-ashamed and thought it might be in bad form to act giddy. And when the vicious guilt cycle was through, she ended up not feeling so giddy after all, anyway.
