Re: heavier artillery comes out...
Jean, having made it safely to the basement, heard his call, and acknowledged it as she raced back up the stairs. She was really unsure what the heck she was doing, save that she was needed. She ran up the stairs and skidded almost out of control across the hall to the front door. She buried her fears and drew on the lessons she had learned before, closing her breathing and slowly concentrating on one set of thoughts.
Peering out she saw where the action was, and skittered along the front steps and to the closest cover of any kind. Thank God I jog every day. It was a completely irrelevant thought, but it made her grin as she took a long breath and darted further forward, settling as close to the action as she could and then letting her mind settle to that place where her telekinesis flowed, like fire, within her.
Her mind reached out and she saw where all of the Haven people were, and where those who targeted them were, and she saw bullets of all kinds heading for her people.
Her people.
Something like rage exploded out of her and a wall of force slammed down across the battlefield between the forces, snapping into existence as she let rage and fear and sheer desperation fuel her. Bullets slammed into the wall and fell, shorn of their kinetic force when meeting the wall of pure air and force. It was not wide enough to block the whole area, and some fire did get past her, but she bent her mind to move it, catching whatever bullets and weapons she could, pushing herself as she had never done before.
