"Well, I was a pretty good mechanic before... whatever happened," Forge replied defensively. He was still only vaguely aware that something had happened to trigger the onset of mutations. Part of him wanted to believe his ingenuity was his own natural ability, but the way Xavier described it, he couldn't deny that it did sound like some kind of super power.
And the more Xavier spoke, the more uncomfortable Forge felt. He did not like the idea of someone mucking around in his brain at all. If it was true, and he did have an instinctual ability to create inventions, the next thing he was going to make was a telepath.. blocker… thing. As it turned out, naming his inventions wasn't one of the talents he had developed.
