The several cars of mutants arrived at the place just as the sun was setting. A carnival was most fun after dark, right? Even if they had wanted to get there earlier, organizing mutants was sort of like trying to herd cats. Especially this many. Somewhere they'd found a sufficient number of vehicles, not to mention drivers who hopefully had more than year or two experience behind the wheel. Of course, once everyone arrived they scattered with Alex yelling instructions to at least stay with someone who had a vehicle. Didn't matter how late they stayed, as long as they had a ride home. At least everyone had a communicator, just in case they got separated.
The myriad of flashing and glowing lights, spinning rides, and the huge pair of searchlights at the entrance advertised the place to everyone for miles around, with the brightly lit Ferris wheel towering over it all. It wasn't so much music drifting out from the place as the low cacophony of animal noises, the buzz of human excitement, and the occasional actual chord of music from the games or tents. It was the smells that tended to draw most people in, though. Popcorn, cotton candy, elephant ears, corn dogs, chili dogs...this place had it all. Riding very, very faintly under the tantalizing scent of food was the odor of animals drifting from the big top. All in all, looked like a very busy, very fun place.
