This sucked, that much she did know. She tried to shift, get back up but there was no way she'd actually et back into the fight. She was still worried about Warren, but it seemed someone had covered that. By the time she looked around, the damned monster had taken off.
How she had no idea, as one moment he'd been there and the other he'd been gone. Then again, she was half tempted to pass out so she hadn't been paying that close of attention.
She grunted and shifted Ruth, checking her pulse before making sure the woman wasn't to badly hurt. She shrugged her jacket off and set it under the woman's head. She hoped someone was calling an ambulance. Everything was chaotic and jumbled, and part of her still wanted to give chase after the monster and make him pay for what he'd just done to Warren but she wasn't suicidal.
