She should've froze time. She didn't think it through fast enough enough. Bloodlust had overtaken her logic. She had her knife in the air when Vulcan folded his arms and a major injury was avoid by mere split seconds. However Sway had no warning for the hex bolt.
When she finally thought enough to slow time, Vulcan's blast had already made contact, feeling like a massive sucker punch to the face. Thankfully slowing had lessened the impact but it still hurt like hell and sent Sway flying backwards. She had little time to contemplate her safety, however, because the hex bolt had done something strange to her little timeless world.
Everything was dark and looked like the negative of a photo, and when Sway tried to get back up again it was like she was moving in molasses. It was causing agony to move even a finger and Sway quickly began to panic and cry. Very faintly, a voice started to reverberate in her world. It escalated into several loud echoes until finally Sway was able to snap out of it.
Get out! It was Creed's voice and suddenly Sway was back in reality, tears down her face like a spoiled baby. She staggered upward and ran towards the big mutant, not really sure what was going to happen. She just wanted to get out of here, she hated it here; these mutants weren't going by her rules.
Sway sprinted through the throngs of people and nearly collided with Sabretooth's side, but her small lithe form grabbed him and easily jumped on his back. She figured the best thing to do would be to freeze time and drag Creed out of the picture, as impossible as it sounded. But she couldn't think of anything else.
It started as planned: Sway froze time. But Creed didn't freeze. Sway felt his heart still beating and gasped in wonder. Now wasn't the time to question it though. She simply hugged his neck. "Hayaku! Ikimasho!" She yelled initially, then after brief consideration, "They not hurt us here! But..can't hold it long..go!"
To everyone else, the two simply, mysteriously, vanished into thin air.
