Ruth felt it start almost right before it actually did, as if she could actually see the monster as it started to move before it came springing out of the crowd. The snap of the person and the chair breaking was almost deafening to her, but that was because she was hearing it in stereo.
There was a plan, wasn't there, in her head? No, she wasn't sure exactly what her plan was. Either way, she was going to get involved in this. The girl was out of her seat, using the chair to climb up on the stage. Bad idea. There was a really strong sense of this being a very bad idea. Yet she was going to do it anyway.
Eyeless, she couldn't really be blamed for poor aim, but she moved as if she could see. Once she was up there, she rushed him, not because she actually thought she could hurt him, but because she wanted him to talk a half a second, just one half second to give someone else a way in.
