"Me? I'm not bossy," she said with a grin that clearly bespoke the fact that she was, in fact, quite bossy. At least with her twin. "But leadership... that is why I called you. Well, what prompted it, anyway. Our team doctor is worried about me. He seems to think I need someone to unburden my soul upon. Seemed to think he was a good candidate for it, too." She finished off her beer, then set the bottle down with a wet click, leaning forward and propping her chin up on her fist without even thinking about what layers of grossness might be on the table and now touching her favorite black leather jacket.
"He did raise a good point, I guess. I mean, leaders do need a... an objective ear.... But I can't talk to someone like the doctor. He's... he's old enough to be my grandfather. And he's close to my father. Or at least, a colleague. I kind of thought maybe..." she let that trail off. Josh was smart enough to understand the implication and she didn't want to come right out and ask him to put himself in that position. She wanted him to offer. For some reason, that mattered. She didn't know why, but it did.
