"Mmm." she agreed happily. Because kids, a family, meant not being alone. Her other hand moved to clasp Ruth's, as her lips pursed and her thoughts followed their usual backtrack into the past. The various states of sensory deprivation Vogel had left her in were still able to get her heart racing at the idea of being alone. But as she often reminded herself, she could walk out the door, she wasn't stranded in the wilderness. Vogel was dead. But the knowledge didn't make the current situation any better.
"Raven's going to leave." The words were heavy on her tongue. The thought of being without her was paralyzing. It was only a matter of time, of course, that another assignment would call her away, but Irene felt less than prepared. Their reunion had been too short, and there was no telling how long she'd be gone or even if she'd be all right, just as there was no stopping her from going. Destiny sighed lightly, hating to have to resign herself to the fact that this was out of her hands. "Maybe it will make me more social." she added lightly, trying to seek the positive side.
