Irene laughed happily at her reaction, clasping Ruth's hand. "Well, now that you've put the idea into my head..." She was halfway serious. If there was one thing she had learned from her father as a young girl, it was that any waitstaff could be motivated to sing happy birthday with the appropriate amount of incentive. Ruth could pick any restaurant she wanted, and Irene would take care of the singing and presents.
Her smile only widened at the mention of Kurt. "I nearly drove myself insane trying to think that one up." A sound of amusement issued from the back of her throat. She had listened to the movies before, but most of the action and effects were lost on her and therefore she hadn't been very impressed until Kurt's enthusiasm for them had become evident. If there was one thing Irene loved, it was his enthusiasm. "I'll have to see him soon." Monday afternoon, to be exact, but they both knew that already.
