Jean nodded her understanding, feeling much the same. It wasn't like Jamie had told her who would be working with her at least to get her started. Although Jean didn't have any problem with Logan's daughter, she was aware of the girl's discomfort around her. Jean, mentally exhausted from her morning work out, was struggling to keep her shielding intact, and so some echos of Laura's thoughts were reaching her. Something that made her frown and try harder to keep her mental barriers up. She didn't want to eavesdrop, and like she'd told Jamie in their first meeting, she wasn't at all liking the train of Laura's thoughts about her, even if she was trying to be professional about it.
"I'm a telepath and a telekinetic. My powers are all mental. And I haven't had any fighting training at all. Closest I've been as my father teaching me to punch like I meant it when I was a kid."
She was a little hurt by her teammate not wanting to spend any time with her. Not really the welcome to the team she'd been hoping for. "Probably going to take more than an hour to teach me anything. Maybe I should see if I can find someone who doesn't abhor spending time with me if I'm gonna actually learn anything." There had to be someone else who didn't dislike her to teach her this, right? She didn't even realize that Laura hadn't said the hour thing aloud, since the girl had been practically SHOUTING it to Jean.
